The signs of spring are in the air. The leaves are just starting to bud on the trees and spring flowers are in bloom. This is the backdrop as we begin Tom and Kat's wedding with portraits of Tom and his groomsmen at Boothe Memorial Park in Stratford, Connecticut. Having a pre wedding ceremony with the groom and his groomsmen and bride and her bridesmaids can make for a wider variety of photos and locations that wouldn't be able otherwise. The guys were a lot of fun which made for a great portrait session.
Weddings can be full of surprise and it is important as a photographer to be ready for them. Tom and Kat didn't want to do a first look and had talked about possibly doing a first touch instead but that was never confirmed. However when Kat showed up in the party bus with the girls I had to think fast resort and change to plan b which was to do a "first touch". So after setting up Tom in position it was time for their "first touch" Kat was all smiles as she eagerly awaited the spend a little intimate time with Tom during their "first touch"
With the first touch finished the guys went back to the hotel in the party bus and I spent the time with Kat and her bridesmaids taking photos. The spring flowers in the park made for such beautiful backdrops for their photos.
With their portraits completed we traveled to the Newtown Meeting House in Newtown Connecticut for the wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony we spent some time taking portraits in the church as well as some fun shots with Kat and Tom.
We headed next to Tashua Knolls venue in Trumbull for portraits of Kat and Tom during the cocktail hour.
Then we kicked off the reception with introductions of the bridal party, a first dance with Kat and Tom followed by speeches and toasts and dinner.
Kat and Tom wanted to capture a photo of each table so I set them up in the middle of the dance floor for some table shots.
While the guests were eating dinner we stepped outside for some night photos.
The reception continued with parent dances, cake cutting and a great time celebrating with family and friends. What a fun and love-filled wedding day.
