Racquel and Adam come from very different worlds. Racquel comes from Jamaica and Adam's family from Polish Heritage. Their love story runs deep and the love for each other has brought their friends and family together into a golden chain of Love. Such is the power of Love. We start the wedding day at Adam's parent's home which is deep in the heritage and religious traditions of Poland as you will see from the photos. Every home in Jamaica has a machete in it. One of Adam's groomsmen is a blacksmith and made an amazing machete with a sapphire gem in the handle as a gift for Adam. This a sign for Racquel that Adam is her protector and will keep her safe.
With toasts of Polish Vodka completed, I head next to the hotel for getting ready photos of Racquel and her bridesmaids and mother. Racquel read a letter and opened a gift from Adam during the getting ready photos.
Racquel and Adam both share a deep Catholic faith and it is only proper to have their wedding in a Catholic church, Saint Mary's Church in Berlin, Connecticut. They had a full Catholic Mass ceremony including 3 readings, beautiful music, unity candle ceremony by their mothers as well as the bride and groom as well as an offering of flowers to the blessed Mother Mary. The church was adorned with flowers as a gift from Adam to show is love for Racquel.
It was quite cold for this April wedding so we decided to extend the portrait session at the church rather then outside at the venue and completed many group and family portraits at the church alter.
We traveled to Cascade Fine Catering venue in Hamden for portraits of Racquel and Adam and bridal party on the grounds of the venue.
We headed inside for their wedding reception including details photos, introductions, first dance and toasts followed by cake cutting a mother daughter dance, mother son dance and lots of great time on the dance floor. We ended the reception with a sparkler exit which is always such a great way to end the night. Thank you Racquel and Adam and your family for a beautiful wedding day.
