Holiday Hill Day Camp in Mansfield is not on the radar of top wedding venues in Connecticut, nevertheless it provides a great space for an affordable tent based wedding. You can fill in the blanks to make for a really great wedding location. Allison and Chris did that for their wedding and raised the bar to new heights even to the point of having lobster on the menu for their wedding day. We begin the wedding day with portraits of Chris and his groomsmen and family on the grounds of Holiday Hill.
I hid Chris and the guys to get ready for photos of Allison and her bridesmaids and family. The girls looked so beautiful with their September sunflowers and color tones.
A first look was not in the plan for Alison and Chris but when the priest called in the middle of the wedding informing us he would be an hour late for the ceremony and with rain forecast to be coming in we had to think fast and change around the plans for the wedding day. This is where hiring a experienced wedding photographer, coordinator can save the day for you. We talked things over with Allison and Chris and decided to do a first look which would give us time for them to have photos together and push back the ceremony and bring everything back to schedule with the reception. It all turned out to be great and provided for so many beautiful photos and a happy wedding day story.
We followed up the first look with portraits of the wedding party and then were all ready for the ceremony.
We finished the portraits as the rain started to move in and thankfully moved the ceremony inside the barn so we could be nice and warm and dry. It was a beautiful wedding ceremony with the reading of vows and the emotions of love filled the barn to overflowing.
The reception was held under the big tent. We started off with introductions, a first dance by Allison and Chris and toasts.
Next came the 1 song table dash where I went around to every table in a length of a song to get table shots of all the guests. Here are a few examples of these candid moments. Then came the mother son dance and father daughter dance.
The dance floor was opened up for lots of fun and dancing and the photo booth was a big hit as well.
We paused for cake cutting and cup cake eating, then a bouquet toss and then kicked it up another notch with so much love, laughter fun and good times on the dance floor. What an amazing wedding celebration Allison and Chris.
