Connecticut has claim to many historic wedding venues. Some of them are small quaint residences turned into wedding venues. Some are large elegant mansions and estates owned by the ultra wealthy of prior times. Wadsworth Mansion is such a venue. This 6,000 square foot mansion was built in the early 1900 for the Wadsworth Family. The venue sits on 103 acres of land offering expansive views of gardens and open land as well as forested areas. It is one of Connecticut's most elegant historic wedding venues and this is where Jessica and Casey's wedding story begins.
Jessica and Casey's weddings starts off with Jessica getting ready in the bridal suite at Wadsworth Mansion. After Jessica was dressed we did a first look with her bridesmaids as well as a first look with her father and portraits of her and her bridesmaids. The first look with her dad was a particularly "tender moment".
Next came portraits of Casey and his groomsmen and the dads.
We moved to the rose garden for their beautiful wedding ceremony. Jessica and Casey shared their personal vows which were very touching to hear. During the cocktail hour, I took photos of Jessica and her bridesmaids, the bridal party together, some photos of Casey and his groomsmen, family photos and portraits of Jessica and Casey together and separate. Their reception came next. Their reception stated with introductions, their first dance and numerous toasts under the tent on the back patio before everyone moved inside for dinner.
The reception rooms were so beautifully decorated and take one back to the days of wealth, elegance. I especially loved the window drapes that went from floor to ceiling and the beautiful flower table centerpieces.
With dinner complete, the party moved back outside under the tent for parent dances and open dancing into the night. What a beautiful timeless summer evening in such an amazing place. It was an incredible wedding day Jessica and Casey and it was so awesome to be your photographer and tell the story of your wedding day through you photos.
