Lydia and Justin chose a 10 hour package which allowed for portraits of the groomsmen at a second location as well as time for a "first Touch" and photos of Lydia and her bridesmaids before the ceremony. Many venues will not allow you on property until 1 hour before the ceremony. This isn't really sufficient time for all the photos so sometimes photos have to be taken at another location prior to the ceremony for portraits, getting ready photos etc. Fortunately Connecticut has many state and town parks to use for portraits.
Their wedding starts at a town walking park in Woodbridge only 5 minutes from the venue. This is where Justin and his groomsmen met up for the groom and groomsmen photos.
We had a blast with the guys at the walking park. Their white sneakers and cool socks were so much fun. Now it was time to head to the Birchwoods at Oak Lane for the getting ready shots of Lydia followed by outdoor portraits at the venue of Lydia and her bridesmaids.
Lydia and Justin didn't want to see each other before the ceremony, however they wanted to spend a little intimate time together without seeing each other. They opted to do a "first touch" spending some alone time with each other exchanging sentiments, prayers, some laughs and special moments together.
Lydia and Justin were very religious and took numerous moments through their day for prayers. One time was during their "first touch." Another was right before the ceremony in the bridal suite with Lydia and Justin's mother's leading the group in prayer. Another was during the ceremony after the eating of the bread and drinking of the wine.
Their wedding ceremony came next. Justin's father officiated the ceremony. There were readings by Lydia and Justin's mother, a wine and bread ceremony, group prayer, reading of personal vows and ring exchange. It was a very emotional and sacred ceremony.
With their wedding ceremony completed, some time was taken at the beginning of the cocktail hour for family portraits, the bridal party together and portraits of Lydia and Justin. These were the only groupings we didn't do earlier.
Next came their reception. It was a great time as you will see and it ended with a glow stick exit.
