We start off the wedding of Gayle and Will at Gayle's parents home in Chester Connecticut. Chester, near the Connecticut River is deeply rooted in Connecticut's history. The town and buildings date back to the colonial times. Across the street from Gayle's parents house was the old meeting house, green and gazebo which we used for their portraits. Let's start off with some getting ready (bride prep) photos of Gayle and her bridesmaids and mom.
Gayle's dad was a jokester and he wanted to add a little of fun and surprise to the wedding day so we set up a surprise first look in the back yard with Gayle's dad in a wedding dress. I felt for Will but he handled the joke very well.
With the joke on Will finished it was time for the real first look. We did that at the green across the way from their house.
With the first looks finished, I had a generous amount of time for portraits of Gayle and Will both separate and individually. The wedding day goes so fast and adding time before the ceremony for portraits is a great way to have a relaxed wedding day with lots of time for many great portraits. I encourages couples to lay out their wedding day this way, so they can get so many more beautiful photos and also enjoy the cocktail hour with family, friends and guests as well.
Next came bridal party photos and family photos both at the green, gazebo and their backyard.
We were able to get so many great photos in the morning before heading off to the venue. With the portraits finished it was time to head to the Tiffany Juliet House for their lovely wedding ceremony and reception. The bridal suite at the Tiffany Juliet house is so pretty and historic. I wanted to make sure to capture some great shots there with Gayle before the ceremony.
With the bride prep photos taken it was time for the ceremony to begin. The ceremony took place on the front porch and front lawn of the Tiffany Juliet House. It is a beautiful sight for a smaller size wedding.
Gayle and Will had requested a group photo of their guests on the front porch so we did that after the ceremony followed by some portraits during the first part of the cocktail hour.
Their reception started off with introductions, toasts, dinner, table shots and cake cutting photos in the dining room.
With dinner finished everyone gathered in the main entrance room for Gayle and Will's first dance followed by the parent dances.
As the night approached I went outside for some creative night photos with Gayle and Will.
The evening continued with lots of laughter, fun and dancing as we celebrated their wedding day.
