Nothing says the beauty of summer like a timeless summer day on a working farm in Connecticut. Such was the stage set for the wedding of Hope and Lyndon at Lyndon't family farm, Thorncrest Farm. known for the gourmet milk house chocolates made with the milk from their distinctive breed of cows that live on the farm. Now when it comes to heaven on earth, Goshen Connecticut is one of those places. A small agricultural area in the Litchfield Hills of North West Connecticut. Hope and Lyndon's love story was out of a fairy tale with Hope interning on the farm where she met Lyndon. This is how their story began and their wedding was a celebration of that story.
Their wedding started off with getting ready photos of Hope at their farm home down the road, Shady Lane Farm. The farm echoed with the history of Old Connecticut, from the farm house to the out building and farm house decor and interior. I loved the wallpaper and antique furniture that were the perfect backdrop for the getting ready photos. After the getting ready photos, we went out back to the barn and pasture or some beautiful photos. The bouquets were all made by the Hope and her bridesmaids from flowers grown in their backyard garden.
After I photographed Hope and the girls getting ready, I went down the road to Thorncrest Farm to photograph the guys and rest of their wedding. The barn was the focus of Thorncrest Farm. It is a beautiful massive post and beam barn, the perfect backdrop and focal point of their wedding ceremony . A large tent was set up on their property so beautifully decorated by Hope and the guys including every table made by the guys on the farm. Every table was decorated with vintage china and flowers plants and elegant signs guided the guests through the property.
The wedding ceremony in front of the barn was set up with large timber benches, garden flowers everywhere a beautiful hand made arbor. The music played by a violin player with the occasional mooing of the cows was the sweetest of melodies. Touching speeches were given, vows exchanged and confetti thrown for the recession.
Family portraits and portraits of the wedding party followed as well as alone time with Hope and Lyndon taking portraits of them all around the farm, barn and gardens.
The magic continued with their wedding reception under the large tent. Introductions started off the evening, followed by their first dance, parent dances and touching toasts by Hope's mother and sister and Lyndon't father and brother. An abundant feast followed with the most delicious barbecue and then the dance floor was opened up for hours and hours of dancing, fun and good times. The dance floor stayed packed all night and the feeling of joy and celebration, love and support for Hope and Lyndon filled the air and all of Goshen, Connecticut for this most unique and amazing wedding celebration. Amazing job Hope and Lyndon!! So great to be able to capture the memories and tell the story of your amazing wedding day.
