Ashley and Mike's wedding was at one of my favorite venues The Water's Edge in Westbrook Connecticut. We were blessed with warm weather for this late September wedding with outdoor ceremony right on the water's edge on the Long Island Sound. Their wedding started with getting ready shots of the bride, and bridesmaids at their villa. The rooms are decorated so beautiful and have this bright airy feel about them. The rooms overlook the water and the views are so stunning. Mike and Ashley wanted getting ready shots which took place outside their villa overlooking the water. There was some time for portraits of Mike and Ashley before their ceremony started. The outdoor ceremony site is so beautiful on the large green leading up the the hotel. The procession begins on the stairs of the Water's Edge and the bridal party make their way down the stairs, across the long green before coming to the alter only a few feet from the water. The overcast skies made for balanced lighting and brought out the colors of the bridal party and guest. After the ceremony they had their portraits taken on the green before moving to the beach for portraits of the Mike and Ashley. Their portraits were taken as the sun was setting and the sky was filled with beautiful patterns of clouds that brought a pastel effect with the beach, sky and water. Their reception was awesome with views of the Long Island Sound over their sweetheart table and reception room. It was a beautiful evening evening with wonderful dancing, food, family and friends.
