CLAIRE AND DAVE'S WEDDING

 Avon Old Farms Hotel-Avon, Connecticut

With wedding season in full swing and the long days of June upon us we start the wedding day with Dave and his groomsmen getting ready at the Avon Old Farms Hotel in Avon, Connecticut.  Included in the photos is Dave reading Claire's Vows.  Vow reading and gift giving is a nice addition to the getting ready photos. 

Claire and Dave did not want to do a first look but wanted to finish as many portraits before the ceremony.  So while the hair and make up was going on with the girls I went outside with the guys to take portraits of Dave and his groomsmen.  I often get asked the question of how do I as a single photographer take photos of both the guys getting ready and the girls getting ready?  It is really quite easy as the girls hair and make up process can take many hours.  While that is going on, it gives me plenty of time not only to do photos of the guys getting ready but also portraits of the guys as well.  

With portraits of the guys complete, I went inside to take photos of Claire and the girls getting ready. We started off with robe photos, Claire getting into her dress and ended with vow reading. 

I took advantage of the beautiful interior of the hotel for portraits of Claire followed by a first look with her dad and bridesmaids and family photos.  After that I went outside for portraits of Claire and her bridesmaids. 

Their wedding ceremony followed. Claire and Dave incorporate an "oathing stone" into their wedding ceremony while doing their vows.  

After the ceremony came family portraits, portraits of the bridal party and photos of Claire and Dave. 

We kick off the reception with introductions of the bridal party a first dance with Claire and Dave, toasts and parent dances. 

After the parent dances I did the one shot table song photos in the middle of the dance floor with all the guests followed by cake cutting and a beautiful wedding reception with lots of fun, dancing and more.  What a great wedding day Claire and Dave.
