JUSTINE AND GEORGE'S WEDDING

The Pavilion on Crystal Lake

MiddletownConnecticut

The fall colors made for such a beautiful backdrop for Justine and George's wedding at the Pavilion at Crystal Lake in Middletown, Connecticut.  We start the wedding day off with getting ready photos of George followed by an outdoor portraits session with George and his groomsmen.

Getting ready photos come next for Justine with her mom and sister helping with the getting ready photos.

A first look with Justine and her dad is next.

Justine wanted to do a "first look" with George and combine it with reading of their personal vows.  This was a beautiful time for them to have some time together and share their vows with each other rather then in public.  After their first look we spent time taking portraits together on the beautiful grounds at the Pavilion on Crystal Lake.

Justine emails me about a week before the wedding and says she want to "Ice" the groomsmen and for me to get photos of it. Could I do that? I had never heard of "icing" the groomsmen on the wedding day.  so I had to ask for some clarification.  With a little clarification before the wedding day and on the wedding day itself it all started to come together.  It was a big hit with the guys!
After the "icing" of the groomsmen portraits of the wedding party were taken as well as portraits of Justine and her bridesmaids.  I just loved the fall cinnamon velvet dresses!!! Way to go girls.  The wedding ceremony at The Pavilion on Crystal Lake is so beautiful surrounded by tall pine trees.  Makes for such a blissful ceremony location.

We completed all the portraits before the ceremony so a few group portraits on the lake and photos of Justine and George at the beginning of the cocktail hour and we moved inside to enjoy the cocktail hour.

The reception begins with introductions, a first dance, and toasts by the father of the bride, father of the groom, maid of honor and best man followed by a father daughter dance and mother son dance
The one song table dash shots was a big hit for 2023 weddings and I did this at many weddings.  Instead of running around to all the tables I found it to work out better to have the bride and groom in chairs in the center of the dance floor and for the tables to come up for their photos.  That way we could get all the table photos in a short period of time.  Here are just a few candid of some of the tables.

Justine put on her shoot list that she wanted "blazing donut" photos of her and George.  I hadn't heard that term before and was wondering if was like the "ice" thing.  Well not exactly.  Blazing donuts is a donut bar instead of a cake and they actually put the donuts in a kettle with some type of alcoholic ingredient and set it on fire!!  It was quite a show and made for some really cool photos.

After the blazing donuts we continued the fun and celebration on the dance floor. Justine got in to her dancing attire and cut loose on the dance floor. What a fantastic wedding celebration Justine and George.
