Marigrace and John booked a full coverage package with me which allowed them coverage on their wedding day from beginning to end. Their venue at the Heritage Hotel is a great place for such a wedding because the getting ready photos, first look, portraits, ceremony and reception can all take place at the same venue. In their case they had their wedding ceremony at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church so we traveled there for the ceremony and the returned to the Heritage Hotel for the reception. These days most photographers leave shortly into the reception and when paying associates and second shooters the price for photography coverage can really start to get expensive. The benefits of hiring me as your photographer is I can spend the whole wedding day with you from beginning to the very end capturing so many amazing moments that would not have been captured by other photographers at the same I can keep the costs very affordable as opposed to companies that bring in a whole crew of people on the wedding day.
We start the wedding day with getting ready photos of John and his groomsmen with his mom helping in the process as well.
With the guys all dressed it is now time for the girls getting ready photos. We start off with a champagne toast and robe photos followed by Marigrace getting ready and a first look with Marigrace and her dad.
Marigrace and the girls are all dressed and ready for the "first look" with Margirace and John. The first look is always met with great anticipation. How will the groom react is often the question asked by many brides. Sometimes there are expressions of joy. Sometimes tears are shed. In the case of John it was total shock as you can see in his eyes as he sees his beautiful bride Margirace for the first time. This one will go down in the history books for sure. After their "first look" I spent time capturing some beautiful portraits of Marigrace and John.
October is fall foliage color time for weddings in Connecticut. I picked out some of the best areas available to reflect the fall colors for their portraits on the green as well as portraits to follow with the groom and groomsmen, bride and bridesmaids, bridal party and family photos. I lay out the timeline for my couples often like this which allows a nice amount of time of 2 hours for the first look and portraits with the goal of having all the portraits finished before the ceremony. That way the bride and groom, wedding party and family can enjoy the cocktail and have the rest of the wedding from the ceremony on to be candid and "hands off" so the couple can enjoy their wedding day.
With the portraits complete we travel to Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church for a full Catholic mass ceremony which takes about 1 hour. Marigrace and John completed their ceremony with a grand exit outside the church.
We took a few dusk photos with Marigrace and John before heading inside for their cocktail hour and reception. The reception begins with a first dance with Marigrace and John followed by a father daughter dance, and toasts. Marigrace's dad sang a surprise song for Marigrace who is a music teacher and it blew her and everyone away as you can tell from the expressions. Weddings are a lot about candid moments and I am all about capturing them and telling the story of the wedding day.
Cake cutting comes next followed by fun, laughing dancing and having the best day of their lives on the dancefloor surrounded with family and friends. What an incredible wedding day from beginning to end!
