LEANNE AND BERNIE'S RUSTIC BARN WEDDING

September has been barn wedding month for me with 4 rustic barn weddings all over the state from North West in the Litchfield Hills to North East in the rolling hills and farmland of the quite corner of Connecticut.  Connecticut has lots of amazing farm and barn weddings and Cedarbrook barn is one of those treasures.  The barn is on the smaller side so the venue lends itself well to smaller intimate and midsized weddings.  

We start the wedding day with some groom photos of Bernie and his son, daughter, mother and brother. 

Leanne in the barn loft getting ready comes next with her mother, sister and Bernie's daughter. 

Leanne and Bernie followed the getting ready photos with a first look outside the barn. Instead of a tap on the shoulder Leanne decided to give Bernie a surprise squeeze of the butt which made for some fun candid moments.  Don't forget to have fun on your wedding day!!

Bernie, Leanne and I boarded the wagon and had a ride in the tractor down to covered bridge and pond and cedar forest for photos.  On the way down the rain started coming down but we had the bridge thankfully for cover and shortly after the sun came out for the rest of our portraits. 

Next came some family photos and photos of their wedding party.

Storm clouds were all around us but thankfully the weather held good for their "short and sweet" outdoor wedding ceremony.  

A beautiful cocktail hour spread was put out for the guests.  The hit of the cocktail hour was the Alpacas that came to join Leanne and Bernie and the guest for a photo opportunity.  Leanne had a thing for Alpacas and they were a big hit at the cocktail hour.  

Just as we were beginning the reception the skies opened up and the rain came down in buckets.  We were fortunate to be inside the barn at this time.  We start the wedding reception with detail photos, introductions, a first dance with Leanne and Bernie and toasts. 

I can't say enough that hiring a "A Team" of vendors takes the wedding day to a another level when it comes to keeping things smooth, on track and being able to adapt to the changes when things don't go as planned.  I am giving a shout out to our amazing caterer Spice Catering for not only feeding everyone with such an awesome spread of food but doing it with a smile on through the downpour of rain, even standing out in the rain with plastic raincoats and umbrellas shielding the guest from the rain as they went outside to the tent get their food.  I can't applaud them enough for their positive attitude handling the weather and its challenges. 

With dinner served we continue the wedding reception with a father daughter dance, mother son dance, cake cutting, candid moments and great joyful wedding celebration.  What a wonderful wedding day Leanne and Bernie!!
