ALLISON AND CHRIS' ENGAGEMENT SHOOT SESSION

Topsmead State Forest, Litchfield, Connecticut

Fall foliage engagement sessions are very popular due to the beautiful fall colors we get in Connecticut.  Fall colors start to change in the northern part of the state the first week in October and finish the end of October toward the coast. It is a long window to chase the fall colors with lots of great parks available for engagement sessions. One of my favorite Connecticut engagement locations is Topsmead State Forest in Litchfield, Connecticut. The park's main attraction is a beautiful historic tutor revival country estate house that sits on top of a hill surrounded by fields and forest and beautiful gardens.  The grounds of the house feature numerous walls, and doors that make great backdrops for photos.  In addition to this,  the property has a pond, trails, and large trees with interesting branches and characteristics.

Thus we begin the engagement session of Allison and Chris.  We started the session down by the pond to get some shots with the autumn colors and reflections.  

We then headed up the hill towards the estate. The sun was very strong coming down the hill so I had Allison and Chris go up the hill and created some really cool silhouettes with the backlighting from the sun.    

We went to the estate and stopped for a champagne break which was a lot of fun.  

We then walked around the estate, taking photos with the doors, walls, gardens and orchards.  

We ended the session up on the hill out in the fields surrounding the estate.  The sun was setting casting beautiful colors and rays on the fields and hills.   Chris was a big Eagles Football fan so they wanted to make a quick outfit change for some fun football photos.  The moon was rising over the hill so it added to the beauty of their engagement session.

I love photographing engagement sessions. It is a great way to get to know my couples and for them to know me.  All my engagement sessions are deluxe sessions.  I spend on average 1 hour for each session so it makes for a relaxing way to capture beautiful moments. I average about 100 photos per session so couples have so many great photos to use for their save the date, reception decor, reception sign in table etc.
