SHANNON AND DAE-HOON'S

SOUTH KOREAN/AMERICAN FUSION WEDDING

The Lace Factory

Deep RiverConnecticut

Love brings together couples in the most amazing ways.  Shannon is from Connecticut and her fiance is from South Korea.  Shannon contacted me from South Korea where she was living with her fiance Dae-hoon.  We worked together through our numerous zoom meeting across time zones and days to help me understand her wedding vision. Shannon returned back in the states a few weeks before the wedding day so we could meet at my studio and put the final touches on their wedding day.  Shannon and Dae-hoon brought their quirky, playful sense of humor to their wedding day making it a real one-of-a-kind cross culture wedding at the Lace Factory.   We start the wedding day with some portraits of Dae-hoon and his groomsmen at the Lace Factory and then across the road at the river park on the Connecticut River.

Next come the getting ready photos of Shannon.  She wore a traditional South Korean wedding dress which her bridesmaids and mom helped her to get ready in.

A first look with her dad came next along with some family photos followed by some portraits of Shannon and her bridesmaids.

We went back outside for a first look with Dae-hoon and Shannon. So often I hear brides say their fiance better cry when he sees her.  Well Dae-hoon with his sense of humor, decided to put an unexpected twist on the first look reaction and instead of crying he staged a hesitant look which was in line with the lightness and joviality of their wedding day. Thankfully Shannon took it in stride. They followed up the first look with some more fun, playful and humorous photos in front of the Lace Factory.

We went across the street again to the park by the Connecticut River for photos of Shannon and Dae-hoon and the wedding party. The fall colors added a beautiful touch the photos as well as the late afternoon lighting on the Connecticut River.

The Lace Factory is one of the most unique venues in Connecticut.  It is an old Lace Factory converted into a wedding venue.  It falls into the industrial, historic genre of wedding venues with its brick walls, wood floor and large glass windows.  It provides a unique one-of-a-kind wedding experience for sure. We begin the wedding ceremony as the late afternoon sun streaks horizontally through the windows. Numerous readings were given by members of the wedding party.

Their reception followed with introductions, a first dance and toasts.

We continue the reception with a father daughter dance, photo booth fun and lots of great fun, laughter and love.  What a great wedding day Shannon and Dae-hoon.
