Rain through the night lingered into the morning of Anas and Kelly's engagement session making for a great opportunity to break out the umbrellas. Anas and Kelly wanted a forest theme engagement session theme so I chose Kettletown State Park in Southbury as it has a mix of scenes and locations including a lake, forest trails, a stream, bridge and walkways through the forest. It was the perfect location for this late spring engagement session. The low hanging fog over the hills made for great photos at the lake and the new spring vegetation was so lush and green from the recent the rain. It was like a magical emerald wonderland in the forest.
Anas and Kelly were so much fun to work with. We had lot of time to laugh, joke and enjoy the time during their engagement session. I recommend to all my wedding clients to do an engagement or portrait session before their wedding day as it give couples the chance to get comfortable being in front of the camera which makes for better photos on the wedding day.
After taking photos at the lake we followed the forest trail over the bridge into the forest, and got some great photos on the walkway and then finished the session next to the Kettletown brook that runs through the forest. A majestic hemlock grove in the gorge made for some great photos framing Anas and Kelly. It was a wonderful hour in the forest that helped show their playful personalities and love for each other. They received over 100 photos of their engagement session that will make great photos for their save the date cards, as well as reception sign in table photos and more.
