Connecticut has so many famous and fabulous places to have your engagement shoot/session. The Rose Garden at Elizabeth Park is one of those places featuring acres of an extensive trellis system of climbing roses that bloom in June, forming an explosion of colors of pink and white roses making for a photography dream. Sandra and Damian chose this great spot for their engagement session and we were able to do the shoot when the roses were in full bloom making for so many awesome photos. They brought their two dogs along to enjoy the gardens and they enjoyed the outing and sights and smells. Come join us and take in the light, colors, and life of the wonderful spectacle.
The Helen S Kaman Rose Garden is the center of Elizabeth Park. It is the first municipal rose garden in the United States and the third largest rose garden in the country today. Theodore Wirth began the design of the Rose Garden in September of 1903, and it opened in June, 1904. The Rose Garden began with about 190 varieties of roses; this eventually grew to almost 1,000 by the 1950s. Today there are over 15,000 rose bushes and 800 varieties of old and new roses in the garden. Featured are hybrid tea, climbers, hybrid perpetual, and floribunda, shrub, and pillar roses, among others.
